Hen Parties and Celebration Days In Devon

Downe Health Spa is located on the Hartland Peninsual in North Devon and provides al range of delightful beauty treatments and holistic therapies.

One of the joys of Downe Health Spa is that it is an intimate facility and that makes it ideal for holding a celebration such as a Hen Party or Hen Day or Hen Weekend or Hen Break, indeed any kind of celebration by a group of ladies.

When you are planning a celebration with a group of friends you do need to be very confident about the location you select. If possible, do make the effort to visit Downe before you make the booking and meet Jeremy and Lynda at Downe. You will be able to discuss your Day in detail with them and we have no doubt that you will quickly become confident that Jeremy and Lynda will be superb hosts and that the Day will be wonderful.

With groups smaller than eight we operate the Day as a standard Pamper Day for the group. Every such Day at Downe has been a great success and because the facility is so intimate the group feels very cherished and pampered.

With groups of eight or more (which we call a Celebration Day) we vary the Day somewhat. The basic structure of the Day is the same as a Pamper Day but the lunch is more of a celebration and typically is extended to take an hour and a half. Typically the lunch will include two home made desserts (e.g. Strawberry Pavlova, Chocolate Log, Key Lime Pie etc.) and the main course will be a whole poached fresh salmon or similar with a variety of home made salads. All of our food is beautifully presented and made from fresh ingredients. Our salads are picked from our garden and greenhouses one of two hours before the meal (even in mid winter!) thanks to the wonders of our gardener. Our meat is locally prepared and our fish is locally caught (except for smoked salmon!).

With Celebration Days we make the use of the Health Spa exclusive to the group and that creates a fabulous atmosphere for the Day. That exclusivity helps make a Celebration Day at Downe so very special.

The cost of the Celebration Day is £95 per person and this includes one of the following therapies for each person attending: either

(Each individual can if they wish add additional therapies of their choice.) It is difficult to over emphasise the attractiveness of Downe as a location for a Hen Party or Celebration Day when the group is eight or more and the use of the facility becomes exclusive. It is as though the Health Spa is your very own Spa for the Day and this feeling creates a wonderfully friendly, intimate, relaxed environment with everyone fully engaged with the joy of the Day.

Recently The North Devon Gazette interviewed a bride to be a few days after she had held her Hen Party at Downe. This is the quote she gave to the journalist which was then printed in the Gazette : “We were made to feel so welcome. They really put themselves out to make us feel at home. We had menus with our names printed on them (the food was fabulous) together with an agenda for the day. The therapists were outstanding - we could not fault them. I am really glad we went to Downe and I highly recommend them to anyone wanting to book a Pamper Day.”
